It’s baseball season and all the baseball fans in our homes are crazy with baseball fever. If you have a family like mine they are all playing fantasy baseball, they even suckered me into playing even though I know nothing about the sport. I think it was their way of assuring an easy win. My way of participating in this baseball fever was to write a sports romance inspired by baseball. Here is my snippet for Snippet Sunday:
“Here.” She shoved the lists at him. “Let’s get this done so we can go to bed.”
His grin widened and she realized what she’d said. She could feel the blush creeping up her face. “Not together of course. You go home to your bed and I’ll stay here.”
“Are you really going to make me drive all the way home when I’m in danger of falling asleep at the wheel, Princesa?” Her lips were a breath away. How had they gotten that close?
“You can take the guest room,” she whispered against his mouth.
“Are you sure that’s what you want?” He closed the hairsbreadth space between them and took her lips in a kiss he intended to be slow and gentle, but that quickly spun out of control. He didn’t know who deepened the contact first, or who lost control first, and he didn’t care. His last coherent thought before he scooped her into his arms and carried her up the stairs was that she did taste as sweet as strawberries.
